Portage APL, at times, is in need of volunteers to help sustain one of our most important programs. With a little training and a big heart, you can participate in the provision of in-home care to special needs as puppies, kittens (and occasionally other cuddly creatures).
Contact the shelter at 330-296-4022 during open hours and talk with our shelter manager. Our Foster Care Program is in development, so we ask for patience as we slowly expand this area of our operation.
Portage APL provides an admissions service for those who must give up their pet or turn in an animal. This is done on a space-available- basis, depending on the shelter’s financial status. There also are a few restrictions:
