Cage Sponsorship

Cage sponsorship is available for those individuals, families, groups and organizations interested in sponsoring the animals housed at the shelter. You may choose cat sponsorship or dog sponsorship. For young children, sponsoring a cage can be an excellent learning experience that helps to instill respect and concern for animals during formative years. Values learned as a child can, and often do, last a lifetime. Cage sponsorship can be a wonderful class or club project.
Last year alone, the Portage APL housed over 1200 sick, injured, abused and abandoned companion animals. The process of preparing them for new lives in loving homes can take a few days or a few months. Your cage sponsorship provides food, medicine, and veterinary care for the animals while they are waiting for a loving home.
There is no limit on the number of cages that can be sponsored. Cage sponsorships also make great gifts to honor a person or beloved pet, to celebrate a special occassion or to give in memory of someone who cared about animals.
Cage sponsorships may be for an entire year, six-months, three-months or one-month. Partial cage sponsorships are always available .
All cage sponsors will have their name(s) placed on a cage at the shelter unless they wish to remain anonymous.
